MORRIS CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

Educating for Life and Eternity

Statement of Faith

We believe the Old and New Testaments of the Bible to be the only infallible and authoritative Word of God, inerrant in the original writing, and the supreme authority in faith and life.  (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21)

We believe in one God, Creator and Sustainer of all things, eternally existent in the unity of three persons -  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  (Genesis 1:1, John 10:30,
2 Corinthians 3:17, Matthew 28:19)

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ,
His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His
substitutionary death, His resurrection, His
ascension to the right hand of the Father, and
His personal and imminent return in power
and glory.  (John 10:33, Matthew 1:23,
Hebrews 4:15, John 2:11, 1 Corinthians 15:3,
Acts 26:23, Acts 1:9, Acts 1:11, Luke 21:27)

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who
regenerates and sanctifies, and by whose indwelling, the
Christian is enabled to live a fruitful and godly life.
(1 Corinthians 3:16, Galatians 5:22-25)

We believe that Adam and Eve were created in the image of God for fellowship with Him, but that their disobedience brought physical and spiritual death to all of creation, resulting in eternal separation from God for every person.  We are rescued from this condition, made a child of God and restored to fellowship with Him only through personal faith in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ accomplished with the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit and solely because of His grace. (Genesis 1:27, Romans 5:12, John 1:12, Ephesians 2:8, Romans 8:11, John 3:16, Titus 3:4-7)

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the eternal punishment of the lost. (1 Corinthians 15:22, Matthew 25:46)

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers through this common faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, who have been called to minister as faithful stewards in a manner which brings glory to God, and that individual denominational doctrinal differences which may exist will not hinder the unity of the body of Christ or the mission of Morris Christian School. (Ephesians 4:4-6, 1 Corinthians 4:1,2)
